Those who are new to filing for self-assessment are being reminded that they only have until the 5th of October to tell HMRC and register.
A new self-assessment customer could be someone who has:
- set up a side hustle to earn additional money on top of their PAYE job.
- disposed of cryptoassets.
- become newly self-employed.
- recently become a landlord renting out property.
If someone has any income that they have not already paid UK tax on, they will need to register for self-assessment.
