Do I need an accountant?
Having an accountant can really be a great asset to your business – not only will they help you to keep on top of your financial liabilities and deadlines, but they’ll also be able to provide you with useful financial advice that you might not otherwise be aware of.
It’s vital that you hire an accountant that can offer you everything you need – here are a few things to take into consideration when looking for a good accountant:
- Do they specialise in contractor tax? It’s really important that you hire an accountant who specialises in working with contractors – there will be a number of legislations and taxes that will only apply to your situation and so it’s vital that your accountant understands this area in order to advise and help you properly.
- Are they qualified? An accountant isn’t required by law to have qualifications, but it might give you peace of mind knowing that they do have them.
- Do they have a fixed monthly amount? You shouldn’t assume that every accountant works on a fixed monthly fee. Check that their package is inclusive of everything you need for your business, such as tax returns, VAT returns and payroll. Read about the services we offer here.
- Have they got a good reputation? Do your research and find an accountant that has a good reputation and can be trusted.
