A new survey shows that the majority of UK businesses say their commitment to sustainability is crucial for attracting more employees.
The Hays research, which surveyed 15,000 workers and employers, found that the 72% of firms that believe their commitment to sustainability is important to help attract staff, seem to be spot-on.
The report revealed that as many as 83% of employees do rate their organisation’s commitment to sustainability issues as important, making it a key factor when considering a new role.
Commenting on these findings, Paul Gosling, Director at Hays specialising in Sustainability, said, “The continuing recognition of the importance and urgency of issues such as climate change, pollution and air quality means that sustainability is being taken increasingly seriously by many businesses today.
