With the deadline date looming for self-assessment, HMRC has reported that there are still around 3.4 million people who need to file and pay their tax returns.
HMRC is reminding people that they have until the 31st of January 2023 to file and pay any tax owed and anyone who doesn’t meet the deadline may face a penalty.
Myrtle Lloyd, Director General for Customer Services, said, “Time is running out for millions of people who still need to file their Self Assessment and pay any tax owed.
