With more than 12 million taxpayers due to complete self-assessment for the 2023/24 tax year, HMRC is urging them to take advantage of their online resources for help.
While of course, some questions may be quite complex, needing the expertise of an accountant, for those who do not have this type of professional help, HMRC might have the right resources.
HMRC have revealed the top five reasons why people are calling its self-assessment helpline, suggesting a visit to GOV.UK instead to access the information quicker.
Need help deciding between Limited or Umbrella? We are happy to help- give Sophie a call on 01442 795 100 or email sophie.lewis@dolanaccountancy.com
The top five common reasons for calling the helpline are:

- What’s happening with my self-assessment registration?
- What’s happening with my self-assessment repayment?
