A new survey shows that 39% of workers are considering changing jobs in the next 12 months – this is up 6% compared to the previous year.
There are several key factors behind so many employees looking to move to another company.
Flexible hours most important benefit for UK workers
The What Workers Want Survey 2025, compiled by New Possible, found that 59% of those without flexible working options are planning to leave within the year, up from 50% in 2024.
According to the survey, the top benefits that employees value most are:
- Flexible hours (cited by 75%)
- Remote work (62%
- Extra holiday (48%)

The highest employee satisfaction levels were found in the following industries:
- Engineering
- Manufacturing
- Charities
While the least satisfied industries were:
- Healthcare
- Retail
- Transport
- Logistics
Concerns over redundancies
The survey findings also reported growing concerns over job loss.
Of the 2,014 UK employees surveyed, 14% said they believed they were at risk of redundancy.
Those in banking and finance, the creative arts, marketing, public service, and IT admitted to feeling the least secure in their roles.
