A new report has revealed that of the 2,000 UK adults surveyed, four in five (80%) people have aspirations to become an entrepreneur. According to the Ebuyer findings, up to 84% of Londoners want to start their own company, closely followed by those living in Glasgow (83%), Liverpool (82%) and Leeds (81%) Sheffield residents were the least likely to start their own business (63%), followed by those in Newcastle and Cardiff (both 67%) and Southampton (69%). Interestingly, the research revealed that millennials are the age group most likely to consider starting their own business, with 90% of 25-34-year-olds and 85% of 18-24-year-olds having thought about becoming their own boss.
Amber Smith, Ebuyer sales director, commented on the findings, “It comes as no real surprise that four in five adults want to start their own business – especially among young people, who have seen YouTube stars and internet entrepreneurs build a business from their bedroom. “One in three residents claim lack of money is the biggest barrier to starting up your own business, but with the rise in rentable office space across the UK and the option to lease technology so businesses can afford the equipment they need to kickstart their career, the dream of becoming your own boss in 2018 might be closer than you think.” To find out more about contracting please contact Sophie on 01442 795100 or email sophie.lewis@dolanaccountancy.com.
