Struggling SMEs will receive a collective £2.2 billion from the government to help them through the current national restrictions.
There will be two grant schemes available:
- One for businesses that have had to close;
- Another for further business support as a result of the Covid pandemic – helping to support people’s jobs and livelihoods and protect communities.
Businesses can expect to receive money covering the 4-week period of national restrictions and should check their council’s website for details.
